Hand in Hand

So i'm almost done reading this really good book... It's called Authentic Beauty, by Leslie Ludy. I definitely recommend it to every girl! There's a part that really hit me when I was reading today, and instead of re-wording it and messing it all up i'm just gonna say exactly what she said.

"Your Prince knows everything about you-all the intricate caverns of your heart and soul. He knows every line and freckle on your face. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He knows all your imperfections, all your weaknesses. And He loves you. He cherishes you. He treasures you. You are precious to Him. The words of the loving bridegroom to his bride in the Song of Solomon are your Prince's very words to you. Instead of allowing the careless actions or words of others to shape your perception of who you are, allow your self-image to be shaped only by the reality of your Prince's sacrificial, unconditional, timeless love for you."
- Leslie Ludy

It is so true what she says about not letting the words of others shape your perception of who you are. Because if you do that you are going to be left feeling like a looser and you won't ever see yourself as good enough. When the fact is that we are perfect in God's sight, and that's all that matters right? We were fearfully and wonderfully made. Live in a constant knowing that you are precious to God, you are His most treasured possession.

"Our Prince does not approach us with a "temporary relationship" mentality. He does not flirt with us, spend a little time with us to see how compatible we are, try us out for a weekend, and then dump us on Monday morning. He does not stick with us for five or ten years, then decide the relationship has gotten stale and leave us for someone else. His love for us is unconditional. It is not based on our performance. It is not based on our perfection. It is not based on fleeting emotion or feeling. It is based on His choice, His decision to be completely faithful to us no matter what- even at the expense of His blood. True intimacy can only be discovered with this kind of commitment at the core."
- Leslie Ludy

Honestly, God is sooo good! He's never gonna leave us. He loves us with all that he is, to the point that he gave all he had for us! There is no one and nothing that can ever fulfill us other than Him! Lately, I've really been practicing giving God the pen to my story. Giving Him the pen to write my love story along with my life story however He desires to. He knows who I am going to share my life with, so shouldn't I be trusting Him to guide my steps along the way?

I encourage you to just leave Everything at the feet of Jesus. What I like to do is picture myself walking hand in hand with Him along a beautiful stream with the water peacefully rushing over stones. I tell him about my cares, fears, worries, hopes, and dreams. As I hand all of them over to Him, one by one, He replaces them all with peace, his never ending peace that passes all understanding. I also encourage you to not only give him your cares, but to also tell Him about all of your dreams. No matter how big they are, tell him about them, tell him why they are important to you, tell him why you wish to accomplish them, ask him how you can start to go towards them. When you give Him all that you are He will begin to show you how to make all of your wildest dreams reality. He wants to walk with you hand in hand on this beautiful journey of life, so take His hand & He'll never let go.
